Awards Gala Highlights 'CandE' Winners
The top-ranked companies for providing an excellent candidate experience were honored during this year's Recruiting Trends Conference.

The opening night of the 2016 Recruiting Trends Conference saw 50 proud companies honored as the North American winners of the 2016 Candidate Experience Awards during a glittering ceremony held at the Hilton in Austin, Texas, on Nov. 15.
The Candidate Experience (CandE) Awards are run by the Talent Board, a nonprofit organization focused on the promotion and benchmark research of a quality candidate experience, and are designed to raise awareness of the benefits of a positive candidate experience.
"Since 2011, Talent Board has sought to evaluate and honor the companies representing excellence in candidate experience," said Elaine Orler, co-founder and chairman of the Talent Board and CEO of Talent Function and one of the evening's hosts. "The 50 organizations designated as 2016 Candidate Experience Award winners are leaders in engaging their candidates from the first interaction through onboarding. We applaud these companies for setting an example for their peers and, more importantly, valuing their candidates as humans and recognizing that their experience matters."
The 50 winning companies were chosen from among a record 240 participating companies and over 183,000 job seekers who shared their thoughts and experiences as candidates. The winning companies were chosen through a blind data analysis based on their candidate survey scores. The scoring -- focused on the candidates' direct responses to "likely to apply again," "likely to refer a friend" and overall ratings -- created value ranking for systematically identifying the strongest companies and, ultimately, this year's winners. To qualify, each company had to commit to a statistically significant candidate response, and the proportion of respondents had to exceed a set standard.
Two organizations -- Deloitte and Risk Management Solutions -- have been winners in all six years since the CandEs were started.
"Candidates today are more empowered than ever -- they know what a positive candidate experience should be, and won't hesitate to share their impressions of an organization's recruiting experience with their peers if it leaves them underwhelmed and frustrated," said Heidi Soltis-Berner, Deloitte Services LP's managing director for evolving workforce. "We are thrilled that our candidates have rated their experience with us so highly and are delighted to be named a CandE winner for the sixth time."
A positive candidate experience can be good for business, said RMS Senior Director of Talent Acquisition Gail Jacobs.
"How we treat candidates throughout the entire recruitment process, especially those not selected, can have a lasting impact on our employer brand and reputation," she said. "Many times our candidates become our customers if they decide to join one of our client organizations."
